The cars returned to Mallory Park for Round 9 and after three weeks of hard work by Suffolk Motorsport and Robb, his Honda was ready to race again, albeit they finished it early Saturday morning which left Robb no time for testing. During practice, Robb was getting used to the car again and had a big spin in front of Scott Tanner's GTI at the Esses but managed to hang on and qualify 2nd on the grid behind the ever quicker Delahunty.
Dave Mellor was 3rd on the grid whilst Scott Tanner was 5th in the Rovers.
The race was going to be tough with no less than a few tenths covering the top five cars. As they set off Robb held on to Delahunty around the outside for the fir three quarters of the lap until he took the lead at the exit of The Hairpin.
Scott Tanner was having a good battle with Andy Setterfield in the Rovers, changing positions a few times until Scott managed to defend his 4th position until the flag, which saw him equal his best result in the class meantime, Robb and Delahunty were lapping very quickly compared to the others and pulled away from the fighting pack.
Robb was a few tenths of a second quicker than Delahunty every lap but with his electrics starting to play up, Robb was not taking any chances and kept the hammer down finishing 3.4 seconds ahead of Delahunty with the temperature gauge in the red.
Steve Alderton was 3rd in his Honda followed closely by Dave Mellor and Brands winner Dennis Bunning.
Robb set the fastest lap which once again was a new lap record.
A great day for the House of Westphalia sponsored car of Robb Addison, after the dramas of Brands Hatch which has seen Robb's championship lead extend back out again.
