Another Win for Robb at Snetterton

Snetterton - 28 April 2002

Round two of the Super Coupe Cup took place at Snetterton on a cold and windy day.

As the cars went out for qualifying, it was clearly wet, but as it had stopped raining, Robb decided to gamble and go out on slick tyres whilst all the others were on wets.

With two laps of practice left and a rapidly drying track, Robb put in his best times and qualified for pole position by a clear 1.2 seconds. As for other team members, Dave Mellor qualified 9^th, Duncan Anderson was 15^th and Scott Tanner, in only his second Rover race was a respectable 18^th out of 30 cars. Robbs team mate Danny Mills had an unfortunate practise and was only 21^st.

As the cars lined up for the race in the afternoon, it was dry but very cold and windy. After a good start, Robb pulled away, never to be caught, finally winning by a almost 5 seconds.

Dave Mellor drove a storming race to finish 3^rd whilst Scott Tanner and Duncan Anderson were both spun down the order to finish 20^th and 24^th respectively.

Danny Mills drove a great race to finish 14^th overall (4^th in the Rover GTi class). Martin Young won his first Rover race and that has closed the GTi class right up whilst Robb has a 7 point lead in the Honda class.
